Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen

You probably know how it is. You have been working late into the night, take a break to have some tasty nibbles while watching late night TV, then when you are ready to close down, just have that one last "flick" around the TV channels.

That's what happened to me last night.

And it stopped me in my tracks.

I had "flicked" to TVS, a community TV channel. There in front of my eyes was shaky, old, black and white footage of a TV show I used to watch before I even started school and ruined my education. Apparently they are re-running the show on Sunday evenings. We have all the latest shows here.

Accompanying the footage was a long forgotten theme tune. It may have been long forgotten but the words came back instantly and I found myself silently singing along to an old familiar refrain that would be known to many British readers...

Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen
Robin Hood, Robin Hood, with his band of men
Feared by the bad, loved by the good
Robin Hood, Robin Hood, Robin Hood

Ah Robin Hood. The man who stole from the rich to give to the poor.

That's one good way to get a million Twitter followers and all the Plastic Luvvies sachaying out of their Knightsbridge home to be photographed standing up for your rights!

Of course if you happened to be one of the low profile poor and stole to feed yourself, the same people would be nowhere to be seen.

Wherever you may be - be safe
