The Cynical Activist

Maybe I have seen too many revolutions that end up quite different to their noble beginnings, or maybe I am just old and cynical, but this is the way I feel.

In too many revolutions, the brave, proud, freedom seeking demonstrators we admired and watched with awe, are pushed to the background, replaced by gun toting, faction ridden, agenda pushing so called "free" armies, who are little better than those the unarmed heroes marched against in the beginning.

A successful revolution is one where the sound of marching feet, is permanently replaced by the oh so sweet sound of free hearts beating as one, not a never ending repetitive chorus of guns, bombs and the weeping of the bereaved.
