Somewhere along the road

In the 60s and 70s, freedom seemed so close. Just a passionate soul, a fiery heart, a song, a singer, a book, a movie away,

We were easy riders, coasting along the black top from Hope to Reality. The wind of freedom blowing through our hair.

We were found - but now we seem - lost. Don't get me wrong, there are countless people out there, risking their lives every day

They are persecuted and tortured for what they say, what they write - what they think. Yet in this age of mass and instant communication

We seem further away from that dream now, than we were when freedom seemed within our grasp and not the grasping hands of others

The technology we use to fight, is used by others to control. It is not just attitudes we have to fight -

it is systemized, extensive, cynical control and manipulation by an increasing number of government, corporate and media entities.

sometimes, I can not help thinking, that somewhere along that road to freedom - "We blew it man, we blew it"

Wherever you may be - be safe
